Priddy Sheep Fair 2009
“A traditional Fair in the heart of the Mendips”
September 2009
The weather was kind to us for a change this year and this drew in a lot of visitors to the Fair.
The changes to the sheep area were a great improvement and greatly aided the arrival and departure of the sheep. There were some problems with the new layout and these will be worked on before next year. The increased craft and rural skills area was excellent with many skills and crafts on display which will again be built upon for next year.

The only downside to the event this year is the rise in the costs for putting on the event. It is unbelievable that for one day our costs are in excess of £10,000 even with the many volunteers that give up their time freely to support the Fair. For the future we will have to look into reducing costs or find ways of increasing revenue as we are in danger of making a loss which may jeopardise the future of the fair.
We would like to thank all that supported us in any way and all of the general public that attended which helps this ancient traditional event continue.
Lastly please remember that our Deadstock sale is on the 26th September 2009.Priddy Sheep Fair Committee
